Once a quiet coastal village, Juffair is now a prime residential and commercial district of Manama. The city is home to a growing number of government offices, hotels, restaurants and retail outlets, and has a middle to upper class residential demographic with monthly income of more than BD 2,000. 
Bahrain is currently enjoying strong economic growth, with GDP of  US $33.5 billion in 2014 and growing at a rate of 3 percent per annum. This growth is reflected in the expansion of Oasis Malls.
